Got a chance to get an 18 inch JL W3 for 115 bucks today, good deal or no. Also I like rap music, but also enjoy rock, would this sub be atleast ok on rock or no? BTW i'm a newb, so i'm not that experienced

It's the original w3 series. So you didn't get anything particularly special. But it also depends on how old it is / how it has been used.

The w3 is a SQ sub. Yes, it would do well on any type of rock.

kyle yes they did, you can even see it on jl's website under discontinued subs, i've seen the sub, it's from a buddy. It's supposed to be 2 years old, but is it worth 115?

So yes, its worth it. They are loud, and sound good.

Worth $115? I personally wouldn't pay over $100 for it, as long as it's in good condition. It's definitely more than two years old, considering JL hasn't produced w3v1's for a while now.

Put your money towards something else, unless you just get a great deal on it.

It's definitely more than 2 years old...they haven't made them in at least 4-5 years, since the V2's came out. They're good subs. I'd pay 115 if it were in mint condition.

lol JL did make 18"s. ive seen 2 18"s walled in a shitty civic before, dude said they werent loud and wasnt happy with them (he said they werent "loud" enough for him, even though they are/were SQ based subs, o well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif). it should be listed on their website in the "discontinued" subs
