If it's strictly competition I wouldn't go XXX or Brahma... Maybe a RE MT, Solo-x, L7's, DD whatevers, but not xxx/brahma/max/anything else sql, not for comps...

Do you have logical reasons to support that?

I'm considering going with (4) 12" Brahmas now, but I also would like to take a look at some of the spec on the DP subs. Anyone know where I can take a look at some? There are better SPL subs out there than the Brahma or the XXX, I forgot that you said that this was for comp. The XXX and Brahma are very good SQ subs that get very loud but do not have the peak spl that an L7 has or the MT by RE audio. All things being equal the MT/L7 will be louder on a meter but not sound as nice as the XXX of Brahma etc. Just depends on how serious you are about your SPL.

They will be measurably louder than the brahma, and by all accounts can handle far more power for burps.

Not too much is said about these subs on this forum, but I own a pair of the D's and man oh man, do they slam. The owner of SonicFX has told me that he's burped a Q with 24,000 watts over 200 times, so that'll give you an idea on the capabilities of these subs.

There are way too many generalizations of subs and what they'll hit on this thread. When you guys compare dick sizes, err I mean SPL scores, why does everyone based their score around the sub they use, rather than their install? The install plays more of a role in the overall performace than any other factor involved.
