I'm replacing my 2 Orion 12" subs with one jl 12w7... I have an 800 watt Kenwood KAC-7201 amp. Is this enough to push the JL? If not, how much power do I need? The MAX power is 800w, while the normal rated power is around 460 watts x 1.

The amp is 4 Ohms, while the sub is 3. I have no idea what that means, but maybe someone here does.

or get pg 12000.1 xeon amp......

before u get subs when u already got an amp make sure ur ohms and power is going to be right....

don't even hook up that amp to that sub, its a waste of time just like me posting on this thread - out

w7s are extremely power hungry... get something @least 1000 watts... depending on how much u wanna spend, I would get either a 1000/1 or kicker 1200.1... I have personally installed a 1200.1 on a 12" w7 and it throbbed... just make sure you get something that actually pushes what it is rated @...

I agree with the suggestion of the PG Xenon 1200.1

That way, if you ever get a sub with normal voice coils, youll still have the same amount of power to use.
