JL 12w7 VS RE XXX (the newest version of each of these)

I want to try to keep my new system under $2000 i might go a little over if i have too, I am putting all of this in my 1985 Cj7 so room is definitely an issue, but which of these two subs is best in sound quality and which hits the hardest i care about the sound quality i mean i want it to be clear and sound good but i also want girls and my friends to get n my car and feel like their heart is going to explode from so much bass im also open to new suggestions but deff want this question answered, i also dont want to spend more than $600 or $700 on one sub now if its two diff subs i might go to $800, Thanks

I wouldn't get the newer XXX unless you got a lot of space for a big box and a lot of power.
