Just got back from the local stereo shop, to check out JL 12w1v2.

They had a few of them in a 1.75 cu ft slot ported box......powered by a Kenwood, or JL 500.1 amp.

Omg, they sounded magnificent. I would have NEVER thought you can get that kind of Sq out of a $120 (on sale) subwoofer. Amazing. And that's with them 2 ft off the ground, on a shelf.

I wasn't impressed at all with the W3. I was expecting more, but it wasn't there. Don't get wrong, it sounded good, but no better than the W1.

I may not be a stereo expert, but I know what sounds good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I love my W1........I have a low powered system that I integrated in t0 my OEM Accord system. This sub plays every bass note so accurately. The bass doesnt overpower the front and goes very low. I used to have it in a slot ported box, but I like the sealed sound much better. The W1 is an awesome entry level subwoofer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have one also. But I paid $150 when it first came out. I love it. Might not be the loudest but to me it sounds great.

Put it in a box tuned to about 26hz-30hz or a sealed box, and watch the LOW end come to life. I have a few CDs where the bass just drops off the map sealed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

I have a sealed but it wasnt loud enough for me and I like the way ported boxes sound. And I had one tuned low and it didnt have any punch to it so I went back to this box. I kno it doesnt hit the low lows but hey other than that I love it:crazy:
Edit: I've been thinking about buying a couple of the flared ports from partsexpress.com and making a 1.8 with 2 4inch areo ports tuned low to see if I like it.

Thats cool......we all have different tastes. I had a slot ported and it would rumble like mad, I just appreciate a more natural sound of bass that doesnt overpower everything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
