JL 10W3V3 reviews?

I had heard from 2 or 3 car audio store owners and a few websites that the JL Audio 10W3V3 was a quality sub. I bought a pair yesterday. (I know it's a little late to ask this but.....) what do y'all think of the subs? Good? Bad? So-So? I got a pretty good deal on them......$302 for the pair absolutely brand new. I can't complain about the money spent. I just want to hear some accurate, unbiast, opinions about these subs from the people who know best......you guys. Any input will b appreciated.

You're gonna hear a lot of whining on here about the price. The price was reasonable to you (and a lot of other people) so dismiss all that as what it is: whining.

They're great subs as long as you understand that they are not meant to get stupid loud and soak up a lot of power. JL earned their reputation by putting out excellent products that sound good. They made their mark in the SQ competition arena, not the SPL lanes so don't expect to be heard coming from blocks away.

I feel the price was reasonable. They retail for around $230 each. And all i want out of those speakers is nice, clean, undistorted bass. I know a 300W rms sub isn't going to pound the glass out of my truck. I don't like that anyway. I listen to more rock than anything (classic AND modern). A little rap here and there. Thanks for the input.

u got a smoking deal on those. Those subs are pretty nice. The quality is there, enough power handling for most sq applications. They are worth the price you paid for them.

If a clean bottom end for music is what you're after, you should be very happy with them.

I've loved my JL since I got it, maybe that's why I haven't got rid of it yet

Yea i'm not the kind of guy that wants the bass "thump" to override my highs and mids. I just like the bass to add a little kick to the music. Don't get me wrong, i DO listen to rap and i do like to hear a nice "thump" but i'm not lookin' to blow my doors off or blow my windows out. LOL! Thanks guys.

I have each sub in a 3/4" MDF enclosure that was built to JL Audio specs.....18"X11"X9" (WxHxD) I'm asking about an amp on the Amplifier forum. I haven't made a decision yet.
