Jensen VX7020?

I know Jensen and audiovox are ****** companies but honestly this head unit has everything I want and I played with it at the store the other day and surprisingly it seemed nicer than units almost double its cost.

However, I'm concerned with the SQ of this HU. Since this is their top of the line model do you all think it would be fairly good? That's the only thing that has me hesitant. If anyone has any real experience with this unit please let me know. Don't just say Jensen/Audiovox is **** because I know that's usually the case. However, sometimes there can be some hidden jems and I would prefer real experience from a knowledgable person. All I can find a good reviews from everyday people, not necessarily audio connoisseur.

I tried a few Jensens...not bad for the money....the sound quality wasn't there for me,but that was a few years back.May be better now.
Yeah that's what I was worried about. Honestly I would never consider a Jensen but for some reason I liked this unit the best out of anything

I'm hoping since this is their top of the line they use some decent pre amps and stuff for good sound quality.

Maybe someone has some experience with this unit...maybe? Lol

I have the VX7010 which is the single-DIN brother of the.VX7020. For the money, it's a great system and definitely does what I want it to. I have a few problems with it, one being that it doesn't seem entirely responsive the way I'm used to with current tablets and smart phones (a slight delay, or having to push the screen more than once to get it to register}. This might be due to my fingers being larger than the average person. I'm also trying to figure out how to get the DVDs to play on my back seat monitor without having to listen to them while driving. If I'm on DVD, it plays fine out back, and I can hear it over my speakers, but if I switch to another input, I lose everything and only get that other input.

Other than those issues, I don't really have any complaints about the unit. It takes up a lot of space and when it flips out and open, it will hit off my shifter. There's also a LOT of wires in the back, so make sure you have space to put them. I use Sirius exclusively for my music and it works good enough. I wish it supported the newer features like song restart, bookmarking songs and artists to pop up when they are on another station so you can listen to your favorites, and TuneMix. It does get the additional "extra" channels, like Sirius Comes Alive, Rock Bar, and a few of the other stations that other older radios don't get.

The sound quality is ok at best. I have better sound output from my standard JVC unit in my other car. The sound on that one is far superior, in my opinion, even on stock speakers and no amp. My Yukon that has the 7010 has new Boss Audio speakers with a factory amp, and the sound is ok, but not that powerful. Maybe if I add an aftermarket amp it will sound better, but for now, I'll survive. I've already put a lot of time and money into this unit and probably won't be allowed to put any extra in right now. The wife didn't even want me getting the thing, but hasn't complained about it since I did it. Secretly, she loves it.

Oh, and the rear view camera works great, but if you don't want a lot of interference, buy a specialty video cord because the one that came with mine isn't insulated enough. But the picture is clear and helpful.

I got mine for under $250 new on Amazon. The only difference I know between that and the 7020 is mine is Single-DIN with a fold up ncreeb, whereas the 7020 is a double-DIN. Hope this helps.
