I have a completely bone stock 00' Jeep Grand Cherokee , its my daily driver and im looking to get the most out of my equipment. My sub of choice was a 15" AQ HDC3 w/copper coils after reading alot of good things on here about them. The amp i have came with the sub as a package deal so its what i have to work with for now, its an AQ 1200D. Truck is ran with a JL audio 4awg wiring kit and thats it, with a 80amp fuse under the hood. I know i got some work to do such as the " Big 3" and throwing an extra battery in the back. Is the 4awg hurting my setup do i need 1/0 gauge, or is it ok because my amp isnt that big? My lights are dimming like crazy, want to get my daily rockin ! Heres some pics of my equipment.

Start with doing the Big 3, nice batt under the hood and then go from there. A nice high output alt would be your best bet. As for the wire, you will be just fine running 4 gauge with the AQ 1200d. Although, you are underpowering that sub a good amount and might be clipping the shit out of the amp.

That is the HD3, not HDC3.
I'd get another amp as that sub will laugh @ 1200watts..
Sexy box isn't it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Very nice, loved the stained port.

You know I now regret not buying your HD3s... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Nice ! I knew it was somebody elses other than the guy i bought this from. Didnt seem like he knew his stuff too much, or to even build a nice box like this. Sub is still pretty stiff too.

I know . Its what i have to work with right now, im on a budget.
No thats good dude, you got the original, pretty stout and I think better than the new versions.

Your 4 gauge is just fine for your 1200D if its a true 4 gauge wire.

Your battery is stock? Big 3 helps ALOT, but theres only so much a stock battery can take

Lets put it this way , if you were me, how would you do my truck ? I only have a couple hundred to spend because im on a budget. I need to get my trucks electrical beefed up to be runnng this guy at .75 ohms. Has anyone ran a AQ1200 @ .75 ohms daily ? And whats the wiring config config for .75 ?
