Go to a couple transmission shops and ask some questions. Other than that does it seem ok? Down shifts properly, sloppy or hard shifting?

how many miles on it? and i take it youve probably never changed the transmission filter?

O nice. somthin I can help with. When you say it does nto shift until 5000rpms. IS this only in drive. Have you tried to shift it manualy. Also if you want we can talk the over on the phone pm me and I'll give you my cell number. I have worked on a few XJ ****** problems. Its not always the *****. Module or seloniods go bad on them all the time.

Also when you say added fluid. Did you check the level in neutral. Or in park.

im really thinkin its a sensor beacuse when its punched out it shifts fine

problably needs the transmission service...especially if it has around 80000 miles plus...same thing happened to my buddys...had it done for 100 bucks...hopefully its not worse than that it gets expensive

you should be able to check 'some' of the codes with the key dance method, they are pretty vague but something might pop up

throttle position sensor I doubt would cause that
