So I have this BP1200.1, and my in dash (Sony XAV72BT) only had one subwoofer out, so I split it at that line with a Y to get both RCA's to the Amp. I was reading around and found that whole "use all 4 inputs on the Amp for increased power" yada yada.
Skeptical, until I saw a youtube video of this happening right before my eyes, I ordered 2 Male to 1 Female splitters and came home today for lunch and hooked em up. Ho. Ly. ****. Completely different/more stronger bass coming from the sub.
Questions: 1. I used to have a "Subwoofer" option on my HU to change the level from -6 0 +6, this option is now gone and the "Subwoofer" word is grayed out.
2. With this "modification", do I have to re-adjust my gain/ect? It is totally hitting at 20 what it used to hit at 32 (volume).
3. I have Bass Boost off, Gain is MAYBE a 1/4 and the LPF FREQ is a guess because it goes from 32 to 320 with no indicators of where 100 may be or whatever so I have to just assume I am at 80-90 range. any better way to do it than halving 320, then halving 160?
I may buy the SMD distortion detector, but realistically for $140 I'd rather guess and utilize my 1 year warranty on my RE than buy it. It's not that serious for one time use imo. Thanks if anyone has any input or answers.
