yes it does.....it makes the over all structure very sturdy

but it also effects the way the woofer cups the internal CF3

and causes turbulance everywhere around it

simple physics...if air has to go around it there is friction and turbulance applied

and if the window bracing cut outs do not exceed the woofer cone area you

will get a bandpass effect inside the enclosure

thankyou everyone thinks window bracing looks cool and all that .. but it really hurts the box as well as helps... ya its bracing but its also turbulance..... just make it solid.. if its going down the middle of the subs.... i dont use that bracing at all thow i just use standard pieces of wood that are arranged correctly to support the box ... which is a lot better then air tring to go throw holes and find its way around

Bracing on this particular project would not be for "looks." So thats certainly not why it is like it is.

I will not argue design aspects, because thats not my area of expertise.

But from a structural standpoint, I dont think there is any other style of bracing (per cubic inch) that provides better support than window brace.

Would you really notice any difference other than on a mic?
