What is the recommended sealed box size for this sub? If you have this sub in a sealed box let me know the size you are using and how you like the sound.

This will be my first sealed sub and I want to do it right. I understand the driver displacement is .149. I have a fiberglass enclosure that is .95 cubic feet, is that too small for this sub?

I attempted to figure this out with winISDpro. This is my first time using that software program so I am not sure if I am using it correctly. The box that program recommends seems quite large. I came out with a figure of 1.868^3 for the sealed box size (for a qtc of 0.704).

1.868 (box) + .149 (driver displacement) = 2.017 cubic feet for the box?

2cf is kinda large but you will get good low end extension. I ran a W10GTi in 1.75cf tuned to 28hz. If you have the space, port it and tune it low. You'll love it. What amp are you gonna push it with?

I have this amp...

Phoenix Gold Ti 1200.1 Mono 1400 Watt Titanium Amplifier

1200 Watts RMS Rated Power @2ohms

1400 Watts RMS Dynamic Power @2ohms

Titanium Mono Block Amplifier

24dB Subsonic Filter Continuously Variable (5-50Hz)

24dB High Pass Continuously Variable Crossover (40-800Hz)

Dual Built-in Fan Controled Operation

Low Pass Level (LPL) Control

RMD/RDDP Monitoring Port

2 Ohm Stable

I if that amp will not work I will go with this one...

RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 1200W x 1 @ 4 ohms

THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: n/a

Good to hear!

Shietttt....the MKI was impressive, excellent SQ. The MKII should be even better. God...I would love to get my hand on one of the MKII. How much did it cost ya?

I have not bought it yet. I need to get the box figured out cause when I do get it I want to put it right to work! I purchased the below items earlier this year and the subs are the last item I need. None of this is installed yet. I want this to be a sq system (with rear fill...lol).

HU- ECLIPSE CD-8062

AMPS- PG Ti500.4 AND Ti1200.1

F SPEAKERS-JBL C608GTI

R SPEAKERS-JBL T595LIMITED

SUB- JBL 12WGTI MKII (two coming soon !!)

spec wise they are the same. i think they just changed the look of the cone for their 60th anniversary. im planning to get one when the price on their accommodation site goes back down. that looks like a good amp to run it with as these subs are extremely low distortion. im planning to get the jbl/crown bpx500.1 also

how are the c608gtis? i was thinking of getting that too but heard their midrange wasnt that good. what can you compare it with?

None of my stuff is installed yet. I have read that too about the c608gti's but I want to find out for myself...they can't be that bad could they?

So back on topic...what size sealed box for the 12wgti?
