JBL P1024 or other?

I need to gain some hatch space back so I want to switch from a dual sub setup to a single sub setup. I need something that will fit in 1 cube or less ported or sealed and can take 500@2 and is more geared toward SQ.

Im thinking the JBL P1024 DVC4 and running it at 500@2 in a sealed up box at .75 cubes.

Anyone have any experience with this specific sub or have other recommendations? Im not trying to spend more than $120-$130 for a single sub.
