JBL GTO938 or P963?

Hey guys! I'm looking for some new speakers for my ride - which ones would do best with ~75w RMS? JBL GTO938 or JBL P963?

The Power series is designed for louder, more powerful sound. It's also a better quality speaker than the GTO series with a nicer crossover. 75W is plenty of power for either speaker.

I'm removing my sub from the equation on this car (at least for now) and going for a nice bare bones system. Turns out the door speakers are 6.5 - I'm leaning towards the Power series from your reply. Are the 6.5's of equal reputation?

Any opinions on JBL GTOs vs Polk DBs? I know the DBs are 4 ohm as opposed to the 2 ohm GTOs, but that's about all I know.

My statement was regarding the GTO and Power speaker lines as a whole, not just the models you stated.

The difference is minimal. I have JBL GTOs and they pound and sound great in the mids and highs. Price is good to

No polks since the SR line is that great. What's your budget?

Sorry for the delay folks! As for price range, I was hoping to stick to ~$100 for a pair. Though if a drastic change in quality demanded, I could adjust that

Never ran JBL comps. These ones are awesome at $95 shipped:

tested those out at a wall at a local stereo shop, jbls have them stomped on midrange capability by far.

Sounds like the JBLs are the way to go then, though I cannot say the pioneers are bad in the least. Crystal clear and loud.

Welp, sounds good! The JBL Power series seems like the best fit. Thanks everybody!

Quick update - I realized I'd be getting the component version of these speakers. Are the JBL Powers a good way to go, or am I looking in the wrong direction? Are there others I should be looking into for ~$100 - ~$150?

Like, maybe these? (BTW, are those the same as these? Weird price difference)
