JBL GTO14001-Z Tuning Advice/help

Hey all,

I was hoping to get some advice on how to tune/tweak my amp for maximum response in my subs. I am running a JBL GTO14001-Z amplifier (1500W RMS). I have 2 Rockford Fosgate Power HX2 subwoofers wired seperatly tot he amp. I installed it about a week ago and I cant tune/tweak the amp for nothing. It has 4 knobs you can tune/tweak with. #1:input level #2:LP Freq #3:HP Freq and #4:Boost.

All of this is foriegn to me. i use to run a old rockford amp that only had a boost kob on it. so asking for help may make me seem like a douche but i have no where else to turn to. SO i thought id ask the experts for some advice.

so heres the specs of my "sound system"

Deck: Panasonic CQ-C9801W

Front Door Speakers: Rockford Fanatic X Component 6.5" Speakers FNX-2614

Rear Door Speakers: Rockford P1653 6.5" 3 Way Speakers

Subwoofers: 2 Rockford Power HX2 RFR-3112 2000W max 1000W min

Amp:JBL GTO14001-Z amplifier 1500W RMS

Capacitor: Tsunami 10 Farad Cap

Each subwoofer is in a 2.75ft sealed 3/4" MDF wood boxes. I am seriously thinking about porting the boxes but i dont know yet.

basically my question is this...

what do i set the input level, Lp Freq, HP Freq, and bass boost of the JBL amp to to get the best possible bass from my 2 rockfords? Ive tried many different combos and nada works right. it will sound good a low volumes but when i turn it up it just sounds crappy. again im a novice just asking for some advice.

also if i were to port my sub boxes what should i set each knob on the amp to.

the rockford power HX2 manual says that (2) 4" wide x 12.65" long ports are needed to get true spl from the subs.

also my deck has a Lp Freq and a HP Freq adjustments on it. the Lp goes from 160Hz down to 0Hz and the HP Freq starts at 90Hz and goes up to 200Hz.

any advice-guidance would be greatly apreciated because i dont know what the heck im supposed to do. thanx

oh i forgot to add that the LP Freq on the amp is from 33Hz to 320Hz and the HP Freq is from 10hz to 100Hz and the Bass Boost is from 0Db to 12Db and the Input Level is from 6V to 320 mV.

thanx
