JBL GTO vs Polk DXi vs Alpine Type-S components .. are they all the same?

I am getting close to finalizing my purchases for my 6.5" components and matching 6x9. I've narrowed down to three choices (this is based on what's being carried by my shop ... please don't recommend outside of these three).

JBL GTO 608c .. they're listed at 2ohm 70w RMS

Polk Audio DXi 6500 .. they're listed at 4ohm 100w RMS

Alpine SPS-610C .. they're listed at 4ohm 80w RMS

So all are pretty similar in their power handling. I've heard the Type-R components and I wasn't jumping out of my shirt to go out and spend the money for them. I'd imagine the Type-S would be similar but not as good. I've also heard these specific Polk's and they sounded pretty nice. The JBL's I haven't heard.

Is there a clear winner among these three entry level component systems ... my gut feeling is that they're all going to have slightly unique voices, but overall perform very similarly.

The JBL's @ 2ohm will get more power for dollar, so I'm sort of leaning towards those just for that reason. Are they terrible? Pretty similar to the Polks? Better/Worse?

They're going to be paired up with whatever 6x9 coaxial is in their respective product lineups to get some rear fill.

My listening tastes are Electronic (The Prodigy, Pendulum, Daft Punk), Hip-Hop/R&B (Justin Timberlake, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z).

I would go with a step or two above those JBL components, knowing what else you will have in your system. They've not gotten nearly the glowing feedback from the community as the MS-62C set or even P660C. You can use GTO 6x9s in the back. There are some characteristics that can't be changed with EQ, even with an MS-8, and one of those things is midbass potential.

MS-62c do look indeed look like quite a nice set. Thanks again for the recommendations!

edit: the reviews of these things are super positive ... multiple threads of appreciation which is certainly reassuring. I can barely find anyone who's admitted to owning a pair of 608c's. Only about $100 difference to upgrade. Seems like a no-brainer.

I have the jbl gto 608c and they do sound really good. The tweets are to bright for me I was looking at the Polks BC they are supposed to have softer tweets. So if u do not have very sensitive ears the jbls sound really good. I just got some Rockford fosgates t165-s to replace my jbls so I might have them for sale soon.
