JBL GT0 vs. IDQ

I have asked tons of questions on here about new subs, finally decided on running a single IDQ10 v3. I currently have a pair of JBL GTO1004D subs in a sealed enclosure. Before I go through with the switch, I want to make sure there will be a noticeable gain in SQ. Let's assume this will be in a sealed .75 cu. ft. enclosure and pushed by a fosgate 360a2 amp (pushing anywhere from 400-500 watts rms). I am pretty satisfied overall with the JBL's, but they are lacking just a little for quality. So, will the difference be big enough to justify $150 extra bucks? My music is mainly country/alternative/soft rock. Thanks.

I just got done doing some research on my amp. Although not directly from Fosgate, I have read one guy say that the birth sheet stated it was 580 watts, another saying he has bench tested this particular amp around 600 watts. That changes the power thing a little. Need opinions here, anyone?

Get a JBL GTi MK 2. You WILL get a huge increase in sound quality, and it will handle ALL the power of your amp, no sweat. Of course, it has a bit of depth to accomidate (10"), so space might be an issue. The 12" sealed will need only 1 cft. But, the ported design will still have amazing SQ, and needs only 2.25 cft. It's more space than you said you were looking for, but it is a great SQ sub, and will easily handle the power you are sending it. And, apparently you already own JBL.

Make no mistake, though, this is NOT like the JBL you have now. This uses their new differential drive motor design. Your current sub does not have this same design. Actually NO ONE does. This is a whole new design, and it takes SQ to a new level (as far as subs are concerned).

You can pick them up on ebay for around $250.
