JBL BPX1100.1 any good?

A shop recommended the JBL BPX1100.1 over a JL 1000/1 stating that the quality would be better and the the subs would perform better. Anyone have this amp? I'd like to know how well it drives a 1-ohm load or any pros and cons about it. Any input would be nice. Also, The JL's freq. response is from 5Hz to 300Hz and the JBL is at 21Hz to I think 301Hz, does that 16Hz difference (from 5 to 21) really make a big deal? again, any input would be appreciated.

i think the jl is of better quality all around but the jbl will put out more power.

the bpx 1100 is a 1/4 stable but you dont need to load it down to get the most power out of it, you get the same power whether it is 4 ohms or 1 ohm, We used to sell a lot of JL

GET THE JBL......there is no comparison to between JL and JBL

JL has great quality, but so does JBL, and for a much lower price.

Go JBL, spend that extra money left over on the install or other goodies.

i don't agree with that at all, i think the jl is cleaner and likely has a much better crossover as well. if jbl doesn't say the amp is a 1/4 ohm stable than why would you claim it to be also??

The JBL is 1 to 4 ohm stable.

the only reason you should pick the JBL over the JL is because of $$, otherwise, although I'm not fond of JL , their amps are far superior to the JBL's

.....its not a class d, so it will be a power hog, s/n ratio blows for a class a/b, it will put out a bit more power tho

I heard the JBL generates a lot of heat when it's running. Check out http://www.carreview.com for some reviews on it. I think http://www.cardomain.com has reviews about that amp too.

The JBl's do not get hot at all, I have the bpx 1100.1 on the board running 4 12's and we hammer the crap out of that board all day and I think it got luke warm once, JL is way too overated they focus more on advertising and product placement then quality, and who makes the bpx1100.1 CROWN DOES! everytime you got a rock concert chances are you are hearing crown amps so they know what they are doing
