i dunno dude... i once hooked up my Viper wrong and the amp made this really high pitched shrill noise. It didnt sound too good.

Its all matter of opinion man...go listen to the 2 side by side at a local dealer and make your decision. I know JL amps to be very clear and sound amazing, but ive never heard a viper amp...so who knows lol

I feel the Viper might be a slightly better product, but in clarity you are not going to tell the difference, one might put out a little more power than the other, but once again it will not be enough to really tell a difference
