Under Japanese law, the 36-year old princess loses her royal title and allowance upon marriage to commoner Yoshiki Kuroda, 40, who works for the Tokyo city authorities.

To prepare for her dramatic change of lifestyle, the princess has reportedly been taking driving lessons and practising shopping at the supermarket.

A princess taking driving lessons....should be worse than some rich white guy's high-school teen daughter.

well being a royal these days is blah... monarchs seem to live forever, and she's a long way off in the secession anyways. driving is actually a luxury in populated japanese areas.
