jackson hewitt or h&r block

how does turbo tax work do i fill it out and they will send a check in the mail
It will walk you through everything, where to enter w2 info, interest, etc...also checks for errors. Then you can print and mail in your form or, if you have last years tax info, file electronically. Which you will get you money faster. I claimed 2 kids and married and used it this year and last year. Easier than going into H&R or JH.

Turbotax.com, same things as H&R and cheaper.
if you file a 1040A do it yourself online.
X2

I've used turbo tax for 5 years without a single problem. Very easy if you are filing 1040a or 1040ez. Plus you have the option of direct deposit into your bank account. Money in hand time has ranged from 5-9 days for me.

Not sure if this helps but you can do turbotax free in different situations like mine (I'm Military) by using this link: http://www.freedomtax.com

I have done them myself, but for some reason I get more back when I go to a local tax guy. This year I am going to H&R block cause my fiance has been getting hers done there for years. She gets the 1 day, where I will get the 3-4 day one and it starts off at 50 bucks. Shouldnt cost me more than 75 and will come out of return. Plus we both get 10 bucks for referring. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oh also they can do the whole thing and tell you how much you will be getting back. If you dont like it they dont charge you anything and you go some where else or do them yourself.

Guys....stop paying h&r and JH out the *** to do your taxes.

The IRS (http://www.irs.gov) has lists of sites that are free for federal, and like $9.95 for state, depending on what states you live in, and based on your income (if you make under like 52k)

As a matter of fact, i just did them last night for a friend, went through H&R first, got my total return to right before i wanted to file, and they wanted to charge $59.95 to e-file with direct deposit of the refund

went to the irs site, picked the first one off the list, got the EXACT same return amount, and only paid $9.95 to e-file state, and free to e-file federal. The person will have the money is something like 7-14 business days ( i got mine in 4 last year)
