Well I have my whole system hooked up, iva-w205 pdx 4.150 on comps, sundown sae-1000 on single type R 10", I just installed my sub amp and have the sub out +15 on the deck and running at 2ohm on the single R so it should be getting 600wrms from the sundown specs, I was trying to adjust the amp but even with the gain cranked all the way up Im barely getting anything out of it unless I turn the bass boost (cringe) up about 1/4 turn then its ok volume...I wanted to use this amp to run a single 13w6 but just wondering why I wouldnt be getting more output?

Your deck may be like the other alpine decks where it starts negative and "0" equals all the way up. Try setting it to zero.

Start with the sub output at 0, Every other alpine Ive had is loudest at sub level 15, I just dont get why Im not really getting much from the sundown gain max and sub out maxed, I mean there is sound, but nothing like youd expect from 600wrms which is what I should b getting out of the sae-1000

maybe something is wired up wrong? but start off with your 9883 in Flat, the HU bass volume @ 9, turn your unit up to medium volume, and tweak your gain knob until it is loud at that volume... no more then 3/4

I dont have a 9883....It is the w205 as stated in the title....

I am gonna be following along with this as well, crossing my fingers its not an HU problem. Going to install my W205 this weekend (Thanks to SSon22s)

Could it possibly be one of the filters set wrong maybe, like a subsonic set too high or something cutting the frequencies going to the substage? Either on the HU or on the Amp?

Maybe your fronts/rears are just drowning out the sub making it seem subtle at relatively loud volumes?

Well the subsonic is down all the way and LPF is set at 100hz I turned the bass boost up just a tad and its pretty loud now, but Im also running it at 1-ohm, I guess I will have to see how it works out once I get the box built for my w6 and install it...Ill be running at 2-ohm again and 600wrms to a single 13w6 should be decently loud...

it is your headunit the 2V pre outs cause this problem. i think you should get a new headunit and sell this one to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I cant really keep up with this thread, but does the w205 having 2v preouts make it a bad HU for running a system? That would blow speaking I just dropped a bunch of money on my w205.

I've had an alpine with 2v pre outs with a sundown amp and everything worked just perfect. I think something is set wrong. Or the sub is wired up wrong cuz you could think you have the sub wired at 2 ohm but its really at 8 ohm.

2V preouts are fine. The only difference (and it's a pretty moot point) is that the higher preouts are less susceptible to noise issues. The s/n difference between the 2V and 4V is theoretically only a few dB anyway and you would only see that at max volume where the s/n is at its highest. Moot like I said. I have a 1500D and an Alpine with 2V preouts and the gain at about 1/4 rocked the house with a single 12. I think you either have a configuration problem with the HU/amp or something wired wrong.
