itunes problem

My mom uses itune, and for the last 2 weeks every time she clicks on anything itunes pops up and says it has encountered an error and needs to shut down. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes from differnt sources including their itunes website. anythoughts

Anyway, were does she keep her music is it on a external hard drive? Also have you scanned for viruses recently? Scan for malware as well as this is what it will sometimes do. "shut down programs"

Yes, she keeps it all on an external hard drive, but it was been that way for about a year. Virus checks done daily. How do you scan for malware? and what is malware? Thanks.

Itunes probably hosed itself during the last update.

ETA: Did you do **THIS** when you uninstalled and reinstalled?
