its wierd the kids you got to high school with

that's what happens when parents lose touch with their kids, and they shut themselves off to the world. then they get into all kinds of weird things, like D&D, first-person shooters, etc. at least that's a generalization.

i have a kid i work with, who's just really off in his own world. he plays D&D (he's the dungeonmaster) and at lunch, he'll go sit in the other room by himself. hardly talks to anyone. just really an oddball. always wears a trenchcoat, doesn't really talk to anyone. my coworkers will just joke/mess around with him and he'll get pissed. we all think he's one of those kids that's gonna go postal some day. and he listens to classical music and hates rock/metal/rap.

i know everyone has teased or made fun of someone one way or another, but if that was stopped, this stuff wouldn't happen so much. but telling some to stop the teasing isn't an option.

That is crazy.

The only crazy person to come out of our highschool is David Ball. He wasn't amazing at sports in highschool, now he's playing D1-AA and is about to break Jerry Rices College records then most likely go pro.

This is a big shock for us because we live in Vermont. I don't think i've ever heard of a player from Vermont high schools end up going pro. Our football is like watching 3rd graders.

never heard of it?

There was this one episode where a kid shot up the school and everyone was talking about how they treated him poorly. It's on the WB. Not worth watching IMO, but your comment reminded me of it.

Do you remember the lady that killed a corrections officer in Tennesee helping her husband escape from jail? Jennifer Hyatte. Well thats my step sister. I used to share a bedroom with her, went to my first concert with her, and went on my first deer hunt with her. Its a small world.

lol. There is nothing wrong with anything you said in relation to this kid other than people give him shit.

Probably not my kind of guy, I've never been a fan of D&D :p But you can't hate on him or assume he's out of his mind because he's a loaner who likes classical music! The social reflection that people give him based on what the think someone like him is about (mainly, being unstable and crazy) is bound to make him more anxious and confused than his own mind!

Tolerance for deviation from the perceived "norm" is the key that unlocks the reasons behind most of these people going violently psychotic all of a sudden.

Easier said than done, though.

Also, to the dude that said he was glad he killed a cop because cops aren't people, that's EXACTLY the mindset that these killers have when they take people out. "These aren't people" or "they deserve it".

The idea of someone "deserving" anything is ENTIRELY subjective. That's why the death penalty will always be a hot debate.

I personally think a lot of cops are dicks. But, and this is gonna be ironic to warn you, GUESS WHY? Because they see people like you as "deserving it"! The same exact subjective designation of being worthy of punishment that you use to d@mn their lives!

So, more or less, that exact self-righteous attitude you have about cops is what's wrong with cops, what's wrong with killers, and what's wrong with you. Anywhere you see injustice or ruthlessness, you see that same self-rightous unicentric point of view.

Nazi germany thought the jews "deserved it".
