Long story short; hooked up my US Amps IS 4085 & Elemental Designs 9.2x.

Had the US Amps tuned with my DMM / gains flat (before any of the speakers were installed). Checked the voltage again and the rear channels were good, but one of the front channels was showing ~1v.

Soooo I still wire up the front stage (CDT CL-61a) and rear fill (Focal Access) and they sounded like utter garbage literally. Change the front stage to the E.D. 9.2x (tuned again with the DMM) and had a go at it. Sound was 100000000x better and clear!!!

So am I assuming correctly that the first amp has shot the shit? Nothing cool happend, no smoke, no flames, no nothin!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyone recommend a good basic 4 channel amp for the interior speakers or do I ditch rear speakers and just power the subs?

Ditch rears, power subs.

Then get the highest power two channel that you can fit into your budget that has the features you need.

Generally, people will recommend that you ditch the rear fill and just run a front stage and your subs.

Its up to you, of course.

I learned the hardway i guess! So I am going to buy a new amp I just dont know if I get the 2 or 4 channel or what brand yet.

I think the front stage sounds good right now (granted the subs are not yet installed) but was not sure if the rear speakers would make that big of a difference in the convertible?

Do I run the rear speakers in the convertible (they are in the sides of the rear seats panels)?

Yep....as long as you listen to your stereo from the back seat, care about your passengers in the back seat, or are running a 5.1 setup. I have no rears and any passenger I've had still liked my front sound stage from back there just fine....In fact whenever I recline my seat it usually sounds better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yep....as long as you listen to your stereo from the back seat, care about your passengers in the back seat, or are running a 5.1 setup. I was thinking the same thing, when the sub gets in teh mix it will help.

Did you buy the 4085 new? You have this cool thing called a warranty if you did. Just send it back and have them take a look at it.
