Issues Please give advice!

no i do not. But i feel he set my gain to high because sometimes i can smell the voice coils a little bit. Its a sweeter smell if i am correct. And i want to turn it down because i dont want to ruin my sub. Do i just turn down the gain or is it more complicated than that?

Lol i would hope so! he works for a car audio shop. Im going to sand it down tomorrow. And where my amp is at is on the back of the seat. it folds down so its easy to get to but could that cause it to overheat? And even when the seats are down and windows open in 70 degree weather you could fry a egg on the amp.

Just because someone works for a car audio shop does not mean that they know what they are doing, Or that they did not make a mistake somewhere. And unless your amp has a fan on the bottom of it I do not think mounting it to the seats would cause it to get that hot.

okay yeah it doesnt have a fan. but yeah i know what you mean. i just need to figure out why its overheating. its cut out twice but on separate days.

Thats not good! You need to get a dmm first, you can get one for cheap and they are required in this hobby. I also suggest you go to bcae1.com and spend as much time on that site as you can. There is alot of good info in one spot where you can learn alot. It is not hard to set up a basic system right with a little knowledge.

Well figured out the problem. The negative input was not working on the line out converter. So the guy at ams fixed that. Said all my wiring was very good. And then tuned it which he found out the guy actually did screw it up. He had the bass boost on and had the gain turned up a little too far. SO HAPPY NOW! Thanks everyone for your help!
