just playin around with audicity, a sound editing program and i wanna be able to take just the bassline out of a song... so i can put it with another song or something... anyone know how i could do this? i tried using a low-pass filter, but it doesnt really cut everything above the freq. off... or i can still hear other parts of the song... i dunno im still messin around just thought it would be pretty neat if anyone knows?

I just tried that using Adobe Audition and I was able to do it with a graphic equalizer. I just made the range 120db, left everything up to ~60hz at 0db, everything else above that went down to -60db. Might want to try that if your program will let you and of course, set your cut off accordingly.

well i got it out a little better if i do the LPF twice, and then do a bass boost filter... still not good enough yet...

and the program i use is audicity cause it runs on mac... just search for it its free

works good for slowing songs down too i love slowing down my own music
