Anyone here ever tried this? I'm thinking of this as a possibility with my two e12a.22's, using a clamshell isobaric configuration with my current smaller box. This achieves a goal of higher power handling while still keeping a smaller enclosure, something that I'd like. And I already have the subs, so why not...

Anyone have any experiences/comments about this?

Lol, actually i posted a very similar question back here cause i was debating trying it. well, i'll tell you this much, if you have a pair of subs laying around or a confined space, then it works perfectly.

i wouldnt suggest it as a primary option though. Reason being the loss of 3db by running them clammed. Basically, with the clamshell you have the benefit of 1 woofer with double the power.

In effect, by comparison to the normal install: 2 woofers with 1000wrms = 6db>1 woofer with 500wrms. With clamshell: 2 woofers with 1000wrms = 3db>1woofer with 500wrms (BUT, 1/2 the space too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif ).

IMO, if you're willing to accept that loss for a daily setup, these enclosures work out great.

yea, sorry, i'm a tool. Couldnt get images to show up proper in the thread so stuck 'em in the gallery Here ... and gf has the digicam so there snapped with a Sprint phone.

The box is about 10"x24"x15" approx. Ugly too, but its only a temp setup. Wanna to try isobaric out for a while fore i made a pretty install lol

hope it helps...

ummm yea, looks like this might work :

*edit* nope, still not what i wanted... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif
