I want to see if my alpine mrd-m1005 is stable at 1 ohm....are 2 ohm amps usually stable at 1 ohm? am i risking my amp by trying this?

It depends on the amp, some are okay at 1 ohm and some arent. But I wouldnt burn up an amp trying to find out...

MRD-M1005 is NOT 1 ohm stable. People have tried. And people have failed.

And no, there are no "easy" mods to make it such....

You're just going to have to buy a new amp.

It's not worth it.

I ran a Legacy amp bridged @ 2 ohms back in the day. Thing never went out on me. I still have that thing.

But I would not care if I destroyed it. An Alpine amp, I would care.

if your looking for a 1 ohm stable amp look at the memphis amps, solid amps imo

What amp? I think orions can do 1 ohm even htos its rated at 2
