should of thought of that first. maybe you should try harder get a good job and be able to fund everything you want in life and provide for a family.
honestly, yeah, it doesAfter spending the 4 hours or so a night i spend doing my AP homework it's tough to sit back down and spend another hour on homework for regular classes, especially when i get cocky and think that my high test scores will be enough to pass me... plus i usually finish all of my AP homework around 1 in the morning...
the question was is the punishment reasonable? I'm going to graduate just fine, My car is being taken away, I can't finish the build I've been working on for over a month, I can't enjoy the end of my senior year, and I have to volunteer for 4 grade points that don't matter...

seriously!!!Why is there an automatic assumption tha "providing for a family" should be a goal in one's life?
they actually didn't provide me with that car, the only thing they provide me with is insurance... which is still a lot and i appreciate it... but they technically don't own that vehiclehonestly, yeah, it does
your parents have high expectations for you
they provided you with a vehicle, and they have the power to take that away from you
Im not saying it doesnt blow ass, but it is your parents perogative to punish you
And I'd agree, if you have a family. Perhaps he is not interested in a family. Does that make him some kind of a failure? It seems to be the opinion of much of society that one must start a family. My question is why? And why do many people look down on those that chose to not start one.cause most people have one that needs providing for
although good grades in school are not a requirement
they didnt buy it for you?they actually didn't provide me with that car, the only thing they provide me with is insurance... which is still a lot and i appreciate it... but they technically don't own that vehicle
sounds to me that you have parents that are few and far between these days. parents that actually give a shit about their kids life. worry about stuff like passing your classes and growing up for now. theres really no excuse to be failing anything in high school. easiest days of your life!I never make these whiny *****y threads but I've just gotta rant... and I've got nowhere to go nor anything to do, so deal with it.
My high school sends out report cards every six weeks and has a grading period of six weeks. As a senior I failed English for the 5th of 6 six weeks with a 67 and gov. with a 69. My school sends a letter home saying I'm failing classes that i need to graduate. My overall average (the one my graduation is based on) is an 81 in english, and 78 in gov, the letter makes no mention of this. I'm taking 5 AP classes besides this I have A's and B's in these classes. My parents freak out and stop me from finishing the build I've spent around 1800 dollars on over the past year, take my car keys away, ground me for the rest of the school year and make me quit my job.
Do you think they're being reasonable? I'm missing Marley fest right now because of this crap, and they're also forcing me to volunteer at a homeless shelter... because I failed for one six weeks... and when they called my english teacher she complained about my behavior and says I'm too familiar with her (I make *** jokes in class).
I think you are taking my comment a bit too far. You can go down that road...but it doesn't lead to a very pleasant place. You do have to "go along to get along"...and I, too, will probably do the family thing. Not because it is in my own best interest, but to conform to society's mandate as this is what I must do.seriously!!!
What the **** are we doing as individuals, we're just doing what everyone tells us we have to do, go to school, go to college, get a job, retire, die... what for? Just to fund the country so that more people can do exactly what we all do when they grow up. How many of you are truly happy with the system? I want to follow every single one of my interests and go wherever they take me, I don't feel a need to do a worksheet that teaches me about the electoral college... which i already understand how it works
I'll probably go through the same cycle, and i guess the title is in their name cuz when it was bought i was 16, but it was all my money and they said they would transfer the title when i leave for college... so i guess it's still theirs... but it sure doesn't feel like their car after all the work and money I've put into it...they didnt buy it for you?
they dont have the title in their name?
eh
be more specific here
Im only 24, I remember being 18 and my parents being so unjust and not understanding
then I grew up, and got married, and have a kiddie comin, so my opinions are vastly different from your own
