Is this how u do it

Say you terminals say:

Left (channel 1) + - / Right (channel 2) + -

You connect the + of channel 1 to the - of channel 2.

(You skip the - of channel 1 and the + of channel 2.)

Look in the amplifier's manual and it will usually show exactly how it's done.

But different amp require the + and - of different sides. My rockford amps want a left + and right -, whilst my soundstream wants right+ and left -/ SHould be written on top of the terminal itself.

 
when you bridge an amp, you're taking power from both left and right channels of the amplifier (2ohm load power X 2 for 4ohm mono).

SO long as you can access the amp speaker terminals, you can always bridge or "un"bridge.
