everyone.

ive managed to upgrade my system to

a memphis 16 mc1000d 1100 watt mono block amp

and

2 12" JL W3v2's

in a small sealed box... the box is divided in two within

providing each sub with its own airspace...

right now i have it wired like in the diagram... supposedly

this is in parallel[???] at 4ohm... which i thought was

right since the speakers are 4 ohm...

the subs should be getting 300 watts a piece which they

can handle supposedly...

this stuff is QUIET!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont get it... my old subs would

even bang with this amp...

did i wire it wrong???

ok that amp is...

RMS Power 4 ohm (Watts) 300X1

RMS Power 2 ohm (Watts) 600x1

1100x1 at 1 ohm

are the subs DVC 2 ohm? DVC 4 ohm? or DVC 6 ohm??

you said you think they're 4 ohm... so i supposed you meant DVC 4 ohm... well with 2 subs you can have it at 4 ohms or 1 ohm... so you can either have 550W RMS to each sub... or 150W RMS to each sub

it is DVC 4 ohm...

so your saying im only getting 150 watts per sub... the amps

manual made it seem like at 4ohm each sub would get 300 watts

not share it... hmmm... confusing...

isnt your diagram the same as mine???

i see you added a drawing... your 4 ohm setup is what i have in

my diagram me thinks...

your 1 ohm diagram is confusing...

ill work on a diagram of what i think your telling me...

the amps manual also has the 1ohm setup for one speaker

set up like this...

+ - + -

|.......|

|.......|

|.......|

speaker

with the middle two not used... for the 4ohm setup it shows this

+ - + -

| | | |

| | | |

| | | |

speaker speaker

i have it wired to the amp like in the 4ohm pic...

what happens if you wire it like the 1ohm set up for one speaker

and then use the middle two for the other speaker???

does it blow up????

and this is 1 ohm...

in this diagram is shows both positive and both negative

terminals connected to the sub box terminals... am i

splicing wires??? can i just wire the positive terminals

together and run one wire to the positive terminal

on the sub box... and connect the negatives together

and run one wire to the negative terminal on the sub box???

bump... for anyone that knows more about this stuff than me...

also... am i supposed to use any special gauge wire to do

the connections just between the terminals on the sub???

i have a heavier gauge wire going from the terminals on

the box to the amp... but how about these crazy connections

just on the sub alone???
