Sounds like they're looking for a way to get rid of you without being able to pay for unemployment insurance. They're looking to make you quit or fire you with cause. They're thinning the workforce, starting with you.

She's your employer/boss; if she doesn't like the way you smell, present yourself, or even talk to other people then she can fire you.

With 10%+ national unemployment she can backfill your position with shaven people at a cheaper price. Be thankful to have a job...

i got fired because i wouldnt shave once lol i say F*ck them who are they to say you cant have neatly cut facial hair? + its more intimidating (which seems useful for a security company?) But anyways....discrimination...hmm... i dont think so. A power hungry b1tch...yes i think so lol

I'm a Marine and we can have ZERO facial hair and must have maintained hair. Its not an intimidation thing. Its about looking clean and professional.

Ok I work for a Security Company for the past 9 years. I have always had a Goatee. When I was Hired in 2000 it wasnt and issue. I left the company for 8 months back in 2005 but then came back. I was rehired and still no issure. Well now they are telling me to shave or im fired. But here is the thing that gets me. Once every 4 months we get a catalog about our company and in it there are pictures and articles about guards that do great work and whatever. Well in each book there is atleast 10+ people with beards, Goatees and other facial hair. So is it Discrimination for them to make me shave and yet let other people keep there facial hair?
O and my goatee is very neat and short.

In our handbook it states that we cannot have Extreme facial hair or beards. BUT at the end it says that it is up to Branch management to decide if we are alowed to have beards and other facial hair.

My old boss had a goatee and never had a problem with mine. but now we have a lady as our boss and she has a problem with it

This will get you fired. With the way unemployment is right now, it's best to do everything you can to keep your job. Just shave it.

but the douche that hired me on at bbuy install said it needs to go after the interview, then i talked to the gm after i was hired on and he said he wouldn't of given a shit.

Ya real easy for you to say but wait until someone you work for pulls this type of shit on you. I work my *** off for this company. I have never missed a day in 9 years. I have worked a year and a half without having a day off because we were short on people. And they repay me by taking $2 per hour away from my wage and wanting me to shave. **** THEM!!!!

Worked for them the last 4 years sub contracting for Kmart LP department.

I know what the rule book states as well, but if she says she wants it off, then it must come off.......simple as that really.

Maybe the company you sub-contract for can haz a say? I know where I work they do have some pull.

Securitas is a joke show. They just got under bid by another company where I am at and I got a 3 dollar raise, lol! Good thing I took my vacation already with the old company, or I would have been out 2 weeks and my dollars. By the way, I thought it was a dollar lost when the made that big national fawk up for raises last year. I didn't lose any, because I am a site manager, but the regular associates did.
