shave it, or find another job

Ya real easy for you to say but wait until someone you work for pulls this type of shit on you. I work my *** off for this company. I have never missed a day in 9 years. I have worked a year and a half without having a day off because we were short on people. And they repay me by taking $2 per hour away from my wage and wanting me to shave. **** THEM!!!!

i was kind of pissed at the jobe before my last one, the owner was like cant have ear rings, but women could have as much as they want. I was like wtf is this 1985? I was gonna make some big issue about ****** discrimination but said **** it and took them out. Last job no problem. **** it just shave.

No it's not discrimination. The rulebook says it's at the manager's discretion. She is exercising that discretion.

Sounds like they're looking for a way to get rid of you without being able to pay for unemployment insurance. They're looking to make you quit or fire you with cause. They're thinning the workforce, starting with you.

Tattoos and facial piercings I can understand, but to be that uptight about a goatee? That's ****ing stupid. If keeping your facial hair is more important than your job, tell the boss to **** off, if not, shave it and be done with it.

man my uncle had to shave his goatee or shave his head 2 work at his job and he grew his hair out since he was in 9th grade and hes 32 now so he shaved his goatee but he didnt say **** he just cut it

People are such bitches these days, I weep for our future. It's all due to our parent's generation of hippies who spoiled us and didn't make us accountable for shit.

She's your employer/boss; if she doesn't like the way you smell, present yourself, or even talk to other people then she can fire you.

With 10%+ national unemployment she can backfill your position with shaven people at a cheaper price. Be thankful to have a job...

Ok I work for a Security Company for the past 9 years. I have always had a Goatee. When I was Hired in 2000 it wasnt and issue. I left the company for 8 months back in 2005 but then came back. I was rehired and still no issure. Well now they are telling me to shave or im fired. But here is the thing that gets me. Once every 4 months we get a catalog about our company and in it there are pictures and articles about guards that do great work and whatever. Well in each book there is atleast 10+ people with beards, Goatees and other facial hair. So is it Discrimination for them to make me shave and yet let other people keep there facial hair?
O and my goatee is very neat and short.

In our handbook it states that we cannot have Extreme facial hair or beards. BUT at the end it says that it is up to Branch management to decide if we are alowed to have beards and other facial hair.

My old boss had a goatee and never had a problem with mine. but now we have a lady as our boss and she has a problem with it

I know what your talking about OP. I got hired with an eyebrow piercing and 6 months later I was told to take it out. Same boss and everything, even though other people were allowed to have em. It sucks but either do as they say or stand your ground and get fired/quit.
