Is this Discrimination???

Ok I work for a Security Company for the past 9 years. I have always had a Goatee. When I was Hired in 2000 it wasnt and issue. I left the company for 8 months back in 2005 but then came back. I was rehired and still no issure. Well now they are telling me to shave or im fired. But here is the thing that gets me. Once every 4 months we get a catalog about our company and in it there are pictures and articles about guards that do great work and whatever. Well in each book there is atleast 10+ people with beards, Goatees and other facial hair. So is it Discrimination for them to make me shave and yet let other people keep there facial hair?

O and my goatee is very neat and short.

In our handbook it states that we cannot have Extreme facial hair or beards. BUT at the end it says that it is up to Branch management to decide if we are alowed to have beards and other facial hair.

My old boss had a goatee and never had a problem with mine. but now we have a lady as our boss and she has a problem with it

Maybe she is a **** that loves to have authority over men. ***** worked at a Retail store but yet they hire her to Run a whole Security Branch. People with 20 years of security background didnt even get interviewed for the position.

Understandable but why is it for some and not all.

It would be the same thing if your boss came in and said for you to shave your head but everyone else can keep there hair.

i got fired because i wouldnt shave once lol i say F*ck them who are they to say you cant have neatly cut facial hair? + its more intimidating (which seems useful for a security company?) But anyways....discrimination...hmm... i dont think so. A power hungry b1tch...yes i think so lol

i was kind of pissed at the jobe before my last one, the owner was like cant have ear rings, but women could have as much as they want. I was like wtf is this 1985? I was gonna make some big issue about ****** discrimination but said **** it and took them out. Last job no problem. **** it just shave.
