my jbl 600.1 powers up fully, but produces no sound. im wondering if this is a cheap/easy fix in most cases?

check all of your wiring and make sure your amp is turned on through your deck.

are your subs wired correctly??? we need more info as to whats been done so far.......like how are the sub(s) wired, are the rca's hooked up to your h/u and your amp.....etc....

Probably just needs some simple transistors replaced... isn't that what you said before?

I wouldn't even touch it unless I had a schematic. Wonder if JBL would sell one...

I went to JBL's web site and inquired about a schematic for the 600.1. They will sell you one for $20. Seems like a deal. At least you'd have a starting point for proper troubleshooting.
