Got a friend who is looking to sell his stuff off as a whole. How much is all of this worth? I don't have a big budget for audio and was wondering if this is an OK setup.

I would personally go with a different setup entirely but it depends on what you have for cash. I would definitely look for a better amp and as for the dayton's I cant say anything as I have never heard of them.

From what ive HEARD (no personal experience) daytons are pretty nice. ITs a Parts Express brand

Wrong Dayton. The VDO Dayton this guy is talking about isn't the same as Dayton Audio carried by Partsexpress.

I've got a $700 budget and that ought to include the head unit. I can probably get this whole set off my friend for about $400..

Any other opinions?

back with a few options..

head unit...pioneer w mp3.....$156 shipped

get two pairs of these pg componets.....$246 shipped

soundstorm 5 channel amp.....$145 shipped

this mtx sub and enclosure...$110 shipped

the amp is rated 200wrms@ 4ohm..so is the sub.

with just 5 minutes of looking, there is a respectable system for $660. depending on ur car, the wiring harness/ dash kit will run about $20..the wiring kit from walmart at $20.

of course, u can look somemore, find cheaper componets, maybe drop one set...find a different h/u..whatever

this hopefully get ur juices going and help ya find what u need and what ur looking for.
