i found this stuff at home depot... i was wondering if it

was as good as peel and seal... i cannot seem to find

peel and seal in buffalo... we have no lowes...

i waste more gas just driving around listening to music... at least ill be

my car could use another 150 miles... i think its only got about 1050 miles

well, its not like you cant just open that stuff up and look at it =)

once you get the peel and seal, cut a little piece off and compare it to that duct insulator... if it looks the same, why not try it. it looks really inexpensive... i couldnt find any in syracuse eaither, but a Lowes is just openin up in rome (where i work) so ill take a look when the store is all stocked up and done.

no.. I don't think so.. That stuff is foam insulation. It wouldn't be heavy enough to dampen very well..

The Home Depot in Batavia has that stuff. I work there. It's 10in x 33ft or so for 19.97, the other stuff has an aluminum back and is 4in x 33ft for 14.97. I used 5 layers of the wider stuff in the trunk of my 04 civic coup and it worked great. My only sugestion is to use a heat gun to warm it up after you stick it on espeaially on the trunk lid because it doesn't stick very well in this temp. the only draw back is after my car (black) was in the sun this summer, a little started to peal off. Mainly just the corners and stuff. Not a big deal at all. If you have any questions, call The Batavia Home Depot, and ask for Dan in Hardware. I'm there tues, thurs, sat, and sun. Ooh yeah, that duct insulator is absolute crap. Good for nothing except insulating pipes. After all, it's nothing but bubble wrap with aluminum on one side. The peel and seal we have isn't butyl rummer like Dynamat, but it works great.

well i ended up going to henrietta LOWE's and bought

4 rolls of 6inch by 25foot Peel and Seal... i have all

week off after three more hours of work... hopefully

there wont be any rain and i can get this done... ill

be sure to take pics of the install...

about how many layers of peel and seal should i

expect to have to use???

and about the rear deck... do i put the peel and seal

right over the underneath of the 6 X 9's or do i have

to cut holes out for them to be able to breathe or something???

cut the holes, you dont want the peel and seal covering anything but bare metal (and really tiny\empty holes that are there for no reason)

i would advise taking off the speakers, then installing, then putting them back on.

and yes. cut the hole out =P

try to use some kind of hard roller to mush the stuff into place.. i still have to do this because i couldnt find one.

did my hole trunk and rear deck...0 smell and has yet to peel./..its all about how you prepare the surface and put it on...i used fat matt on my caprice and it ended up fallen in places..but it was my first time...did it in my merc and have yet to be dissapointed...just wash down the areas your putting it with soap and water...let it dry...and put it on..i didnt have a roller or anything so i used my hands...had some cuts(ok,alot)and "buurn marks" from the friction of using my hands..that a nono....gl
