Is this a reputable car audio brand?

Hey all, I have a Massive 2 Farad Power Cap that I bought new from a flea market a couple years ago... when I hooked it up, it actually seemed to stifle the bass a little bit and so I took it off. I was running it for two amps though, and now that I only have one I was thinking about slapping it back on. It's got LED amperage display and blue LEDs... from my personal experience cheap audio equipment manufacturers often put little cosmetic touches like that in order to better sell their product...

This capacitor was only about $60 and I haven't really heard of the brand, and I know that 2 Farad caps usually start at a lot more price-wise, so can anyone tell me anything about this brand from personal experience or what not? Thanks

Caps are a bit of a joke around here. They really serve no purpose other than the readout on the top of the unit and to impress people who don't know much of anything about car audio.

I am in no way bashing your purchase, but to simply answer your questions no those are not a high end brand and no they really don't do anything.

If you can find someone to buy them, upgrade your caraudio system to the BIG-3 (search it on here) and you will see a DRAMATIC difference in your electrical system far greater than anything a cap could do.

Edit: to add a little comedy...yesterday while cleaning out a bunch of car audio stuff I found an old audiobahn cap that I had purchased about 5 years ago. My wife saw me throwing it out and said "can't you sell that, it looks like its brand new" and I told her "I couldn't in good conscious sell that to anyone" and threw it in the trash can LOL

Don't be embarrased at all dude. We have all had one at one point or another. The marketting behind it totally gets ya ****** in.

You know actually for some low-priced subs they sound pretty good! I've had em for about two years now and I still get compliments on how they sound. @ Pl8er -> I'm definitely going to check out that thread on the Big3 and look into that. I put an Optima RedTop battery in a few months ago and it's been serving me very well

caps are pretty much worthless, but as stated everyone has owned one in one point in time. Nothing beats a battery though. But welcome to the forums.
