Is this a no no?

their should be no audible difference as far as noise goes from a system that both subs are facing the same direction in comparison to having one sub inverted and the other in normal position.

the most important factor is that you wire one of the subs out of phase from the other.

and of course give each sub the proper amount of internal enclosure volume. so you get decent enough low end bass. the larger the enclosure the lower they will hit, but too big and they will start bottoming out and efficiency will be affected too.

but by what you said you don't have enough room in your trunk to make the enclosure to big, but its always best to stay on the safe side and check the specs of the sub so you stay within the proper enclosure parameters for them particular sub.

are you going to be using the same subs that are in that picture or was that just for the example purposes only?

 
its fine to set your subs up like that, im doing that same setup with my 2 type R's.
