Hello, I wanna upgrade audio in my Scion XB slowly and I wanted to see if I can use these as subs ? My rear panel should take 6.5 speaker and I was thinking of cutting out the grill and mounting those little subs on the panel.

I have no audio knowledge whatsoever and do not know if 2 of these are any good, or a waste of money ? I don't need car rattling, just normal amount of bass to enjoy music, nothing crazy.

Also I don't have much room and can't have a box, taht's why I looked at these.

and here's a pic I googled for rear of XB, u can see a speaker is mounted in the trunk(I can't hear it at all)

you can try it, but go to parts express and get some tang band 6.5" subs, they are much cheaper than JL crap
I'm gonna agree here.

Try a cheapy tangband mid off PE to test out (they're like 70 bucks) and see how it sounds. It might work, or it might not, but if it doesn't at least you aren't out all that much.
