is this a good enough batt

You need to ask yourself what are you trying to achieve with the extra batt? Batteries add reserve capacity. That's it. The real source of all your power is the alternator. The alt is what determines the size of your electrical system. Not your batt's. It won't matter if you have 10 Deka's in the trunk. If you're drawing more power than your alt can supply you will still see voltage drops very quickly.

Spend that extra time and money on getting a HO alt or installing a second stock alt with one good main battery. Second batts are the last thing to install, not the first.

mechman HO alt i got goes for 399, but with 2k all i has was stock 110 amp alt, big 3 and red top up front and it was not bad. had some light dimming and drop at full tilt, but i did not run it full tilt most of the time so i was good.

FCUK that. 400? my budget is most def. 100 for a batt. more or less. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
lol, i added a lil more to my post for ya. to give ya an idea of what i had with 2k watt

really?shit... i'm in a deep shit hole with my 2k set up then huh..
what size ur stock alt? either way, if i were you. i would install the stuff. do the big 3 and see what happens. save up for a better 2nd battery then what u got listed and see what happens then. u should do the big 3 regardless so id do that first.

you're right. i'll do big 3 either way.

what size? i have no idea.. how would i find out?

it's in a civic 03 sedan lx.

i tried lookin under the hood, on a sticker or w/e on the alt, i couldn't find how much amperage :\

is it possibly on the honda website?

Normally this advice is backwards, but civics come with tiny stock alts. But it probably would help a little by adding a 2nd battery. I know a 100a alt can handle 2krms with 2 good batts. But yours is probably only a 60-70a alt, so if you added another batt, its still hard to say how much power you can run, maybe 1000-1200max? before you start seeing some major voltage drops.

hopefully the other batt + big 3 would help out.. :\
