Is this a good deal?

Well I just purchased a magnum D2 to replace my Alpine Type R. I'm looking to get a new amp and I was looking at the Tsunami 1100d because it's cheap and seems like a decent amp. I was, however, offered either a soundstream rubicon 1002 or a memphis st1000d for $175 plus the alpine. They are both used but in good cosmetic and working condition. What do you guys think? Do the trade or look for money for my current amp and the type r and buy a tsunami? Thanks!

i havent owned a tsunami but they seem to have a good reputation here on caraudio forum. the memphis is also a proven favourite and the st1000d is their D class, so will drwa much less current when compared to the class a/b Soundstream (also a v.good amp - i owned an SS 10.0 and loved it). however, the a/b SS will draw much more current than the Memphis amp as its less efficient, being a class a/b but will sound lively, like all SS amps do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

$175 isnt too bad aprice for the st1000d.

I'd say go with the Tsunami because you get it new with a warrenty. "Sometimes" when you buy used from a friend you whind up buying someone elses problem.

well if the amp u were getting wasnt used then id go for it. If u can get his warranty and have the ability to use it then i would definetly go for it. Rubicons are **** sweeet amps.

Memphis makes some great amps.

but dat guy has a point, if u buy a new tsunami u get warranty

me personally, i think memphis build quality is terrible aside from the mojo and belle now. i'd go tsunami. and jt your right on efficiency unless both pushed to max power a.k.a clippage

I like memphis and they are proven comp amps and they will slam like a b!tch. But that Tsumani is mean to. But me I go with that Memphis. and ask ur friend if that memphis is still under warranty
