Is there anyway to tell if your subs are blown?

I just got a box of Pioneer Championships and I hooked them to a house amp and I think they might be blown because they sound horrible through the amp. I am hoping its because the amp couldnt hold the subs and it just made it sound like that, but I am thinking that even if the amp couldnt handle the subs it should still sound normal until it couldn't handle it!

Thanks!

well you can tell by hooking up an electrical reader to it, you can get them at a local car parts store for like 15 dollars

but dont jump to conclusions, your home audio amp is not built to run at 4 ohms or below, also if you ran it as free air its not gonna sound to good

Really?? Maybe they arent blown...

I took out the speakers of the amp and hooked em to the championships and they sounded like shit! So you guys think thats why?

Yes the subs were in a box! Just wondering but why would this make a difference?

Thanks!~
