How much would a TIGHT sub amp box combo cost for a SUV that you wanted the bass to be transparent and blend into easily? Oh and a subsonic filter is a must. I imagine they would get sold on here often enough.

tight? i mean, a good 1000w rms amp can be had for $100-$150 used.. if you want something new get this: * NEW * CAB-1600.1 Amplifier - Car Audio Bargain

I mean I'm a newb, but would the sub and the box have more to do with the sound, and the amp just have to do with volume and distortion? (And tuneability)

Why not? I think I need a sub, and on here I was reccomend a 12" for a tight sub in my SUV, I was told the maguc happens in the box, and I don't really want to make one, so it makes logical sense to get a pair, and if I'm getting a used sub and box it only makes sense to pickup a used amp. But I am 99% sure I want the tuneability of an adjustable subsonic filter.

You should do a 8" and a 18" in a small box.

Itll act like a 26" sub and on 500 watts will make a beast setup. Tight bass and some rough vibrations.
