Is something missing here?

This is my friends eclipse aluminum sub he is trying to sell me for $100 but it looks like it is missing the terminals for the VC. Either that or the sub is SVC but why would there be tinsels coming out? Anyone else have any input on this issue?

If it is supposed to be DVC can I solder on some terminals to fix this?

Does it harm the sub if I am playing it without the other vc?

Looks to me like they are missing. Yes i believe it does harm it if you only use one vc. Why not buy my DD sub for 160 lol

Im guessing it was reconed, and they only had that spider handy? thats the only thing I can think of...do you have access to the sub? if so id put a dmm on those two wires commin out of the spider and see if there is a circuit there or not

thats a good idea, I'll try to get my hands on one but if there is a circuit there, would i be able to solder some other terminals to the tinsels? The sub is in my room right now

more than likely they were all built using the same spiders to cut down costs.

i know some subs have terminals on one side but no wire coming out to them....its a cost thing

alright, so if i do get my hands on a DMM. How do i use it, I've never used one before and just searched on how to use it and couldn't find anything. It looks pretty complicated so can someone walk me through on how to see if there is a circuit at the other end of those tinsels.?

its really easy- just turn it on to ohms, and touch the red probe thing on one wire, and the black on the other and then read the screen

Dont even bother testing it because you will get 0

My RL-i 8 has the same thing, i tested the leads, got nothing.

It comes as a single or dual 4, just saves time having all the spiders pre stitched
