Is one 15" mtx 9500 enough for the trunk of a 2009 jetta?

The box will be the mtx sledgehammer ported box so it will deff be proper for the sub. I think I am going in this direction so if anyone has any objections, please speak up soon lol

useally the prefab boxes are tuned high so thye are loud and they **** for low end. i knew someone who had three MTX 10s in an MTX SledgeHammer and it sounded fairly loud, but low end it sounded flat.

That is something interesting to consider. I think it will be low enough for me though, I am not very picky in regards to that.

take the 15" and port it lower in a bigger box and throw 1500w to it

I am not sure my stock electrical can do that though. I have xenon from the factory and I dont want them damaged due to voltage problems while they are on. I will certainly try to give them as much power as possible.

That is something interesting to consider. I think it will be low enough for me though, I am not very picky in regards to that.

i've got my 2 cvx's in a kicker ported box. the box, according to kicker, the box for the 05dcvr122 (which is the box from the set i'm using) is tuned to 38hz. that's somewhat of a high tuning so it'll play loud. my cvx's sound awesome in this box. my subsonic filter is set to 15hz. with the cvr's i had in there i had to have it set at 30hz to not get any distortion on the low end. i'm only pushing 638 watts rms into 2 cvx's though. they have a great range and i don't really notice the high tuning of the box. there's only a couple of songs where the super low bass drops down volume wise. guess what i'm saying is if the amp is set properly or at least to your liking, you'll get the bass you're looking for.

i loved it but you can get more for the money
