IDQ12V.3 power handling

I just got another idq12v.3 from woofers running off a alpine MRD-M501 550wats at 2 ohm. is it possible this amp is putting out too much power for the idq. i have to have this amp set almost as low as it will go so the sub doesnt make noise when turned up. box is 1ft^3

btw it sounds like its bottoming out but looking at it watching it it looks no where close to bottoming out. i have a third one on the way and a jl 1000/1. the plan was to run both in 1ft^3 each with the jl1000/1 at 4ohms.

I am giving mine about 400 to 500 watts each off an older PPI amp and they handle it with no problems at all. Check the wiring to make sure you have the pos and neg on correctly.
