Is my amp big enough to bump two R Types?

It should play them fine and as far as the box ...it will depend what you're looking to do with them?how much room you have, etc... i'd stick pretty close to the manf specs though and if you need a bigger/badder amp for any reason then just lemme know. Ma Audio HK602SX - Orion 2500D - Punch BD1000.1 - Kicker KX1200 to name a few and sorry to come off as used car salesman but the brute should do just fine IMO.

yes that amp can power your R's....j/w are your R's D4 or D2

as for enclosure, 3.5 to 4 net tuned in the range of 32-35 depending on what you wanted...

32 lower tuning, hits the lows better

35 a little bit higher, will be louder and still hit lows but not as well

It's going in the back of an M3, so there isn't a ton of room. I had two R types back in the day, ill post a pic to show u how big the trunk is and how they fit in there. The subs are D2. Where can i pick up a good box at that size and tuned to what i want, or is building one the best option?

hm... back of an M3 might be a little difficult to throw in such a large ported box. you might have to go with the sealed route.

to be sure just measure out the area you can use for the box - Width, Height, Depth

and then you'll see which way to go. (don't forget you need to be able to get the box into the trunk)

I'm looking for more bass than SQ. My car is bass retarded, so i think ported is definitely what i'm looking for. If i get some dimensions quick can u tell me what i should do?

yeah it's easy to see how many cubic feet you have, if you have enough space then you can go ported...if you're too small, then you'll just have to go with a sealed box

The subs aren't ordered yet, i'm just planning on doin it tonight. Why D4? I've got 17 inches to fit the box into the trunk, once it's in i've got roughly 18 inches tall and roughly 34 inches from side to side. Depth shouldn't be a concern

You need dual 4's bro. or 1500 rms+ at 2 ohm.
dual 4s would be better for his amplifier situation...but he doesn't need over 750wrms to run the Rs

that amp is probably overrated and he could definitely have a better amplifier for his setup, but he doesn't "need" a new one. it will be okay

OH! since that's the case definitely order Dual 4 ohm subs. you can wire them to a 1 ohm load. i think that amp is kinda overrated, so you should be good with it's ~1500W claim. just watch the gain

as for the depth of the enclosure....did you take into account you being able to get to the spare tire?

it does very close to rated power and can handle lower than 1 ohm loads, I beat the shit outta a juggernaut @ .7 ohms on that same amp and came up with 145.6

Spare tire doesn't exist, so that's not a concern. I'm just hoping a flat tire doesn't ever happen, and i've got runflats on if it does. Alright, so to recap. I want to order Dual 4 ohm Type R's, my amp will power them better this way? And what about my box situation? Thanks for all the help everyone
