IS jbl any good?

I am considering buying some new amps, a 2 channel for my comps and a mono for my subs. JBL seems to make some decent powered amps for reasonable prices. Are they any good? I am either going with alpine, or JBL, as far as amps, which brand is "better" I am open to all opinions. I have already own the alpine mrd-m1000 and LOVED it, want another one badly, but I am considering jbl because i have heard good stuff about them. Is jbl any good? by the way this will be powering one type x 12....

only JBL amp I've ever had was built by crown, and I loved that amp.

I'm sure you'll be happy with the JBL
